In this page I will give a inside scoop on what we are doing in the classroom each month
March
So this week, the 12th, we are starting our unit on animals. I've just checked out a whole bunch of brand new library books this week we are going to
read "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake", "How to Teach your Slug to Read", "Punk Farm: on Tour", and "Penguins." I'll post more books up as
we read them.
As far as the actives we are doing this week at our small groups we are practicing our cutting skills by making an octopus from a roll of
toilet paper. The other activity has the students drawing their favorite animal to add to our class zoo. Then the third project is practicing
positions. For example next to, in front of, by, on and so forth.
The week of the 19th saw us learning about animals of Wisconsin. We played "What's Missing?" with our bucket of animals and made masks of our favorite animals. I saw anythings from lions to elephants to vampire bats to owls! And finally, we explored what animals from Wisconsin and their tracks look like with coloring sheets.
